![]() ![]() Cooking Lvl 5 is a priority for me in early game- I cook everything I can and make a ton of teas (I prepare rose hips, birch bark and reishi mushrooms in the dark if I wake up fully rested before the sun is up, so I have them ready to go. I've had my base at mystery lake and went for a 20 day trip to mountain town (milton) and when i came back, my coocked wolf flesh, outside of my base was in an excelent state the decay rate depends on the level you play. Cooking Skill Lvl 5 will protect you from food poisoning if you eat low condition *cooked* meat, so cooking everything you can (even really low condition peaches, beans, or tomato soup that you won't eat) will help get you to cooking Skill Lvl 5 (even faster if you read Wilderness Kitchen Skill books)- teas and coffee grant skill points (making water does not). as long as your meat storage is outside, it takes veeeery long until decay becomes serious. So meat at 88% condition raw can sit in a pile out in the snow for a while, and slowly decay away and still be safe to eat after cooking.Ĭooked meat that has decayed to a low condition cannot be cooked back to a higher condition- it is already cooked. I do know quartered bag decay at an incredible rate- so once you have the bags, get them to a place where you can safely harvest them, and harvest them ASAP.Ĭooking meat adds 50% condition back to it- so if the meat decays to 50% while raw, you can cook it back up to 100%. ![]() ![]() I honestly don't know that I have every harvested the regular way or quartered and gotten 100% condition meat, even in Pilgrim. ![]()
